Alton Towers Resort in the UK has a new feature, they will record your movements for the day and sell you a tape of that surveillance. The new feature may just be the souvenir you are looking for.
Alton Towers can be traced back to the 8th century but the entertainment it offers today is state of the art modern thrills. If you want to have your day taped all your have to do is collect a free wristband from the YourDay shop on Towers Street when you get to the park. At the end of your day of fun you can buy a movie where you are the star.
The cost of being a star is fairly cheap. You can pay just £6.99 for a single ride or up to just £19.99 for all eight featured rides.
Your armband contains a frequency chip that pinpoints you for the cameras, making you the lead in your movie. All of your footage is digitally stored in the resorts system until you leave the premises.
Alton Towers installed 24 strands of fiber optic cable in 6km worth of trenches. They have 36 cameras and 100 RFID antennae making a data network throughout the 550 acres of the park.
So go ahead and brave Congo River Rapids, Rita, the Corkscrew or any of the five other thrilling rides knowing at the end of the day you can relive your time again on the TV.
