article imageFormer Carson Sidekick Ed McMahon Hospitalized, Few Details

By Sandy Sand     Feb 27, 2009 in Entertainment
In a short, rather terse press release, Ed McMahon spokesman Howard Bragman said the man famous for saying, “Heeeeer’s Johnny” on the old "Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson has been hospitalized for several weeks, much of the time in intensive care.
Saying only that “it’s serious” in the brief statement, Bragman said McMahon, 85, hospitalized in an undisclosed Los Angeles area hospital, is suffering from pneumonia and other ailments.
He declined to note what the other illnesses are, but said McMahon’s family is appreciative of the public expressions of sympathy for him.
McMahon, faced with financial troubles of late, broke his neck in a fall two years ago, preventing him from working, and he nearly lost his home in foreclosure last year before arrangements were made for him to keep it.
