Visitors to Disneyland wouldn’t be surprised to find its famous characters sprinkle around a little magic dust, but not the kind that aroused suspicions enough for cleaning crews to alert park officials to call police and temporarily close the park.
Cleaning crews noticed a powdery substance stuck to the windows of several ticket booths at the Anaheim, California, park Sunday morning.
The early morning closure, due to the suspicious substance, occurred after several people had already entered the park.
Authorities quickly determined that the substance was very find grains of sand, and the ticket booths were reopened to everyone’s relief by 10 a.m.
Video tapes are being viewed by investigators to see if they can identify how the sand became adhered to the windows.
