Indian university students introduce Nano satellite

In an important development, students of an Indian university have developed a nano satellite. The satellite is set to offer a completely new impetus in the space research.
In a notable development, the students of an Indian university have developed a nano satellite. The satellite, named as 'Jugnu' would reportedly set new heights in the space research. The students of Indian Institute of Technology-Kannpur, or the IIT-Kanpur, one of the premier universities of India have developed the satellite while working under the guidance scientists of Indian Space Research Organization, or the ISRO. Much information about the satellite was pointed out by Dr Sanjay Govind Dhande, the director of the IIT-K. Accordingly, the satellite is less than three kg in weight and consists of most of the advanced functionalities that other normal satellites have. It has been further shared by Dr. Dhande that the payload of satellite would include a camera, designed with complete indigenous technologies, in the purpose of near remote sensing. There would be a GPS receiver and finally the satellite will transmit blinking signal while making the rounds over the earth.
Speaking on the matter, Dr NS Vyas, the Head of mechanical department, stated that the satellite would be launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The satellite would be launched by ISRO`s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, known as PSLV. He reportedly stated that after getting launched, the nano satellite, would be monitored continuously. The satellite will be controlled by the ground station at the campus, as stated by the reports quoting Dr Vyas. It has been reported that the team that developed the satellite, is mounting a serious effort over the quality assurance aspect, as well. The images that would be collected by the satellite would also be helpful to study the vegetation and the water bodies, claimed one member of the team to the journalists.
