Father Jailed for Confronting Drug Dealer

By Graham Rix     Feb 17, 2009 in Crime
A Scottish father of three has been jailed after bursting into a heroin dealer's flat and flushing his supply down the toilet. No word yet on whether the drug dealer was charged.
Peter Drummond lost his temper when he discovered that his own brother-in-law had purchased heroin from John Nellies earlier that day. Bolstered by alcohol, Drummond visited Nellies' apartment where he proceeded to threaten the dealer before flushing five bags of heroin down the toilet. The police were called by a drug addict visiting the flat and Drummond was arrested and later detained in custody.
Drummond, of Blairgowrie, Perthshire, was yesterday sentenced to serve a two-month jail term for breaking the peace. Sheriff Robert McCreadie, of Perth Sheriff Court, told him:
"If you were concerned about matters you should contact the police, not enter a house and threaten to kill someone. You can't take matters into your own hands the way you did."
There is no word as to whether the drug dealer, John Nellies, has been charged for any crime, according to the Daily Mail, although as the evidence was flushed down the toilet, it seems unlikely.
