article imageOcto-Mom, 'I Haven't Had Sex In 8 Years!'

By Joan Firstenberg     Feb 15, 2009 in Lifestyle
The Octo-mom story continues to unfold, with details coming out now that are truly bizarre. She tells a London tabloid that she hasn't had sex in a long time, and doesn't intend to and she has a nanny that she pays $500 a week to.
Octo-mom Nadya Suleman is now talking about sex. The mother of eight new babies, and six older children says she hasn't had sex in eight years and won't think about dating until her youngest kids turn 18. She told the British tabloid, The Sun,
"I can't remember the last time I went on a date. Boyfriends? I think I'd have to be extremely selfish. I cannot maintain a social life and be a mother. To even take one per cent of every night and devote it to someone else, a stranger, would be wrong. I have to wait for that until my youngest have left school. I can’t leave someone else trying to care for my kids while I date.”
The paper reports that the 33-year old Suleman met David Solomon, the man who donated sperm to her, in a nightclub. They reportedly went to one movie together, after which she decided she didn't want him as a boyfriend, but as the father of her children. He is believed to be the biological father of all 14 children, but they apparently never had a sexual relationship.
Now, about Suleman's other children. The Sun reports there is 7-year old Elijah, with attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity problems; 6-year old aughter Amerah, and 5-year old Joshua Jacob. There's also 3-year old Aidan, who is autistic, and her 2-year-old twins, Caleb and Calyissa, who have speech difficulties.
And surprise of all surprises! It turns out she does have help. Even though she doesn't work, Nadya manages to afford to pay a nanny around $500 a week to look after the older kids Monday through Friday. Nadya told the Sun,
“She works overtime and doesn’t ask for more money. She does 12-hour days."
