Go Red for Women Day is a national day to support the fight against heart disease in women. On February 6, some pretty supportive auto mechanics in Mission, Kansas set aside their masculinity when it came to wearing red.
The stereotypical mechanic is as far from flowers and pigtails, but when it comes to showing support for women and their hearts, well some
mechanics at a Kansas Jiffy Lube seemed to defy all stereotypes when they donned red dresses.
As the
Go Red for Women Day, founded by the American Heart Association, focuses on wearing a red article of clothing to help bring awareness to the fact that heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States, the virility of the men seemed to fall wayside as they continued to perform their duties while wearing red dresses.

They were also selling the popular awareness pins while looking fine in their fashionable attire.
The men at Jiffy Lube are trying to raise $1.5 US Million to support the cause, up from last years $1 US Million. The woman responsible for setting up the program at Jiffy Lube passed away and this seemed like a way for the men to extend their support for the cause according to an
AOL video.
In a tribute to the heart
written in US News by cardiologist, Bernadine Healy, M.D. last year, the poetic expression of love for our four chambers reminds us that February is not only the time to express gratitude for out emotional feelings towards loved ones but to cherish and take care of the core of our existence.
Romance aside, there is no other organ that works so hard and faithfully yet is taken so for granted.
