The Society of St. Pius X Ousts Holocaust Denier

The Italian chapter of the Society of St. Pius X ousted Rev. Floriano Abrahamowicz for defending British Bishop Richard Williamson, a holocaust denier reinstated by the pope.

The Society, an ultra conservative group, threw out the Italian priest after he defended Williamson, saying they wanted to prevent Abrahamowicz from distorting their image. Nonetheless, Abrahamowicz, reaffirmed what he said in a previous interview that he knew gas chambers existed to "disinfect" but that "I can't say if anybody was killed in them or not." The pope has come under fire and outraged Jews around the world for reinstating Williamson. Abrahamowicz also told Italian television that the Second Vatican Council which took place in the 1960s, and was the forerunner for liberal reforms in the Roman Catholic Church, was "worse than heresy."
