The Israeli government has publicly warned that a serious Hezbollah attack is imminent. Their intelligence specifies that the attack will probably be the abduction of Israelis - but it could happen anywhere in the world.
The Israeli Government has issued an urgent warning about an imminent Hezbollah terrorist attack.
The Counterterrorism Bureau says Hezbollah is planning to abduct or kill Israelis - and the attack could take place anywhere in the world. It is believed to be imminent, with the date February 12th being mentioned. It was on this date last y
ear that the Hezbollah terrorist leader Imad Mughniyeh was killed.
"Hezbullah is apparently prepared for carrying out a severe attack against an Israeli target, including abroad," the Bureau has stated. "Such an attack is a threat against any Israeli, especially senior officials."
Warnings have also been issued to tourists and businessmen, who were told to take special precautions. Specific suggestions include not taking gifts from unknown people, refusing rides from cab drivers who volunteer their services and refraining from meetings in dark or secluded places. And Israelis living abroad have also been told to be extra alert.
Israeli security officials have also confirmed that they managed to foil a Hezbollah attack in an unamed European city last week.
"T
he Israelis live in fear," Hezbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah said in a rare news conference via a video link. "The decision to respond to the killing is still on. We decide the time and place."
