article imageAustralia Honours Four Of Its Own Actors With A Stamp Of Approval

By KJ Mullins     Jan 21, 2009 in World
Australia is planning on honouring its Hollywood gold with postage stamps. Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush have been named the 2009 Australia Post Australian Legends.
There will be a total of eight stamps honouring the quartet. It's said that the actors are thrilled to be about to be licked by their countrymen.
Each of the actors will be given a 24-carat replica of their two stamps.
They are joining an impressive group already gracing the nation's stamp collection. The series started in 1997 with names such as Sir Donald Bradman, Barry Humphries, Dame Joan Sutherland, Rod Laver, Slim Dusty, Arthur Boyd and Prof Sir Gustav Nossal.
When Sir Donald Bradman appeared on his stamp he was the first living person to appear.
