A Regina man was spending Monday prepping for a trip to Mexico. He went to Millenium Tanning to get a starter tan for his vacation. He almost got the ultimate 'sun burn' when the bed caught on fire.
When Jason Viles laid down in the tanning bed he noticed that it wasn't working on one side.
The Canadian Press reports:
"I couldn't get out. Then I heard a pop and the top side went on fire," Viles said.
Viles exited the bed quickly from the back of the machine before he became a human torch. He quickly ran to warn others that the bed was on fire.
Firefighters arrived in time to stop the flames from going to other stores in the building. The business though went up in flames. They are investigating what caused the bed to blaze up.
Viles has decided to let the sun do his tanning from now on.
"I think I'll wait until Mexico now."
