Wealthy city workers are turning to psychics seeking their advice and guidance on how to survive the credit crunch. Many workers have even started taking in contracts and job offers to be analysed.
UK Psychic websites that offer psychic readings have reported a significant increase in enquiries recently. The British Astrological and Psychic Society (BAPS) have seen an increase in the demand for readings in the last year and in particular in the last three months.
Clairvoyant, Jayne Wallace who works in central London told The Telegraph: “I’ve definitely noticed a new trend. We’re getting lots of city workers – particularly men coming in for readings.”
A director of London based brokers firm, ICAP is a client of Jayne and told The Telegraph: “I’ve gone to Jayne in the past and she’s given me really good advice.”
Psychics have seen a rise in the questions about practical everyday issues rather than spiritual issues. The psychic industry has been an industry that people have been very sceptical of; however, many psychics now believe that they have an important role during the global financial crisis. President of BAPS, clairvoyant, Jackie Towers told The Telegraph: “It makes sense really. People are more concerned about keeping their houses, or keeping their family fed, than whether or not they can be put in contact with their dead relatives.”
A former city trader, William Hooper gave up his job at the end of last year to become a Cyprus property developer on the advice of his psychic. Mr Hooper told The Telegraph: “He was always very concerned about the way the economy was heading and warned me to get out of banking. He said I needed to be out of the industry by September 2008.”
