A young man traveling to New Orleans with his fiancé and their 17-month-old son was shot 14 times. Twelve of the bullets shot by police hit him in the back.
Adolph Grimes III, 22, traveled to his grandmother’s home near the French Quarter to celebrate with her along with his family. But it ended up tragic for the family -- he was found dead a block from the grandmother’s home.
The coroner in his report said he was shot 14 times, and 12 of the shots were in the back.
The grieving grandmother, Patricia Grimes told

Grimes III, was shot by seven under cover officers.
New Orleans Police Department said they found a gun near Grimes but didn’t reveal too much during their press statement.
Friends of Grimes and other supporters are protesting in front of the New Orleans Police station with placards and signs.
This is the third high-ranking incident in which a black male shot several times in the back in 2009.
In Oakland, California, a Bart Officer
shot a 22-year-old black male in the back, while he was handcuffed. The videos show that he was unarmed, subdued and helpless.
In Houston, a 23-year-old black male was
driving his parents’ SUV car when he was shot in his own home’s driveway by a white police officer during the early hours of New Year’s Eve. The officer thought the car was stolen. The mother came out trying to explain but the officer threw her against the garage door, when her son asked the officer what he was doing, he was shot and killed. He was an upcoming star athlete.
