Call it a New Year's miracle or just good luck. All is well with 7-month old baby girl Mi-Asia Anderson after a stray bullet was found in her diaper on New Year's.
The incident happened during a midnight service at the Greater Faith Tabernacle church in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis Police believe the bullet was likely to have been fired from outside of the church from a revelers gun.
The Child's mother Jewell Anderson says when the little girl started crying and screaming during the church service, she didn't know what was wrong. "I picked her up and tried to give her 'binky', 'cause 'binky' normally calm her down. But 'binky' didn't work," she said. The mother then took the girl to the bathroom, where she saw the the bullet fall from the diaper.
Churchgoers say that they did indeed hear a noise inside of the church and saw some white, powdery material falling from the ceiling, but no one suspected a bullet. Police say they've found stray bullets in unusual places before, reminders of how dangerous carelessly firing weapons can be.
It is not clear what brand of diaper the child was wearing, but the mother has no plans to switch brands.
