The case in the death of the son of rapper and music executive and producer, Dr. Dre, has been officially closed as the California coroner reveals drug testing results. Andre Young Jr. was found dead in his home in August after a night out with friends.
In August of this year, the mother of Andre Young Jr., 20, found her son "unresponsive" in their California home. When paramedics arrived, they pronounced him dead at the scene. Young was the son of Andre Young Senior, or known in the entertainment world as Dr. Dre.
On Friday, the Los Angeles County Department of the Coroner released that Young died from an overdose of heroin and morphine, according to a news report in PEOPLE, closing the ongoing case.
Andre's mom, Jenita Porter, told investigators that her son had been out with friends and that she had heard him snoring sometime that morning. However, when she attempted to awake him just before 10:30 am, he was unresponsive.
Drug test results had been pending since his untimely death and the case is now officially closed and has been ruled
"an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication."
