As Israeli forces continue their ground operation, the Autralian Prime Minister urged a fresh appeal for ceasefire. He reportedly requested Hamas leadership for an end to the continuous rocket fire to southern part of Israel.
In an effort to bring both the warring parties to the table, the Australian Prime Minister Mr. Kevin Rudd has appealed to Israel and Hamas for declaring an immediate ceasefire. Mr. Rudd further made an appeal to Hamas to stop their continuous rocket firing to southern part of Israel.
Earlier, as reported by various news agencies, Israeli armed forces continue their ground operation deep inside Gaza. The ground operation has been the latest phase of attack in the Israeli offensive in Gaza strip that killed around 350 Palestinians.
Australian Prime Minister while talking to the journalists, stated, that he remained deeply concerned by the ongoing conflict. He reiterated his support as well as the efforts that had been taken by the United Nations for bringing an end to this fighting. Any diplomatic solution must had a way, he said, for bringing an end to the rocket attacks launched against Israel by none other than Hamas, a terrorist organization. At the same time he added any diplomatic solution must also bring about an end to any kind of armed shipment into the Gaza strip.
