Helicopter Crash In Lousiana Claims Six Oil Rig Workers

A helicopter crashing in Louisiana has left eight people dead. The helicopter went down Sunday afternoon in marshlands 100 miles southeast of New Orleans. One person survived the crash but is in critical condition.
The helicopter is operated by PHI Inc. and is used to transport employees to offshore oil fields and for medical purposes. There is not a cause listed yet for the crash.
The helicopter was carrying six passengers and two pilots. Those passengers have yet to be identified.The survivor was taken to a local hospital.
Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board are due to arrive at the scene on Monday.
It is common practice for workers to be flown in and out from their coastal worksites.
