Being a look alike for Jaime Lynn Spears, Adessa Eskridge was told by police to walk with them at LAX. She had no idea she was being used as a decoy so the real Spears could make a get away. Now she is considering suing the police department.
Chuck Vernon, lawyer for Eskridge alleges that the police told his client that she was to help them with something. She felt like she was almost being taken into custody. Her 'crime'? Looking like Jaime Lynn Spears and being on the same plane the young actress was on.
Eight officers escorted Eskridge to the baggage claim. At one point the young woman went to remove her sunglasses but was ordered to put them back on. As the group made it to the bottom of the escalator Eskridge was besieged by paparazzi.
The New York Daily News reports:
"They didn't ask her, they told her. They said, 'You're going to help us,' and she was stunned, just obeying the police. The only time they mentioned Jamie Lynn's name was on the escalator, three seconds before paparazzi surrounded her," Vernon said.
Eskridge has filed for a claim of over $100,000 from the City of L.A. If they don't pay up she is prepared to sue them for false arrest and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
