As reported earlier, Thursday evening the Israeli’s bombed the house of key Hamas militant leader, Dr. Nizar al-Rayyan, killing him and 15 of his family members. Nizar al-Rayyan invented the Human Shields method.
IsraelPolitik reports that Hamas has released an official statement “declaring that Dr. Nizar al-Rayyan, who was killed in a pinpointed attack Thursday evening “is the father of the “Human Shields” method.
The official Hamas statement can be found at The Palestinian Information Center, which reports that Nizar al-Rayyan’s house is in a crowded Jambalaya refugee camp and that the bombing damage to the al-Rayyan house is causing damage to neighboring houses and “casualties.”
Hamas also reports that Dr. Rayyan was a lecturer at the Islamic university and “enjoyed widespread respect at the Jabalya refugee camp.” He was always on the “forefront of demonstration” against Israel and “he never hesitated to don his military suite and join the Qassam Brigades in defending the camp during IOF incursions.”
It was Dr. Rayyan, who took the initiative, two years ago, to protect homes against Israeli occupation air strikes by forming human shields which succeeded in stopping this practice by the Israeli occupation, where they used to phone the occupier of the home and warn him to evacuate it in ten minutes because the home is going to be bombed.
