How exactly will this “fairness” be determined? …and by whom? Many times I have heard, since this election, that we can expect a “fairness doctrine” to be implemented across the board.
This doctrine will require “Conservative” radio talk show hosts, like Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin, to pay for equal time to host an equal amount of time to “alternative” viewpoints.
Is this the beginning of the thought police? Is the “Hate Crime” bill next that will make Christianity and the Bible “hate speech”? How exactly will those slated to oversee enactment of such a “fairness” law determine what is an alternate to the views being espoused? Will they now define for the listeners of talk radio what “conservative” and “liberal” means? Will this committee of Congressmen even use such terms? Or will they use classifications like “logical”, “common sense” and “sensible” to be the opposite of conservative’s “illogical, unreasonable and insensible” viewpoints? Or will the definitions instead fall down religious terms? Will these thought police define what religion is for us poor citizens too stupid to know what to think? Will they let atheists define the
terms?
The last time I checked N.P.R., “National Public Radio”, has a single viewpoint on their programming, 24-7. That network of “public” broadcasting stations rant the most foul, leftist, rabid, anti-Christ ranting, “femi-nazi” garbage (to borrow a phrase from an honorable citizen I have great respect for) that I have ever heard come out of a radio host. Will N.P.R. then, under the “Fairness Doctrine”, be required to slot half of their day for the “alternative” conservative views to what they usually send out on their radio stations?
Will Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Todd Friel and such noted Pastors as John Piper and John MacArthur get free time slots globally to counter the liberal shows under the “Fairness Doctrine” laws?
I very seriously doubt it.
It’s always a once-sided attempt when a liberal tries to stop the voices of conservatives with legislation. Conservative talk radio has stopped cold, many times, Liberal attempts in Congress to surreptitiously pass their socialist laws when the people “weren’t lookin’”. Many times I have heard, and been a part of, shows like Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh that have called on their listeners to swamp their representatives to prevent signing into law legislation that would have been very bad for America . And I was very proud every time we did. THAT is America.
What this “Fairness Doctrine” will do is to TAKE AWAY YOUR RIGHT TO FREE EXPRESSION! Liberals will only use this “Fairness Doctrine” to squelch opposition to their socialist designs. Don’t let them. Stop them. CALL YOUR CONGRESSMEN. Overturn the socialist agenda at every opportunity. Stay alert and reject all such attempts like the “Fairness Doctrine” and the “Hate Crime Bill” and the heinous and Godless “Freedom of Choice Act” (which will destroy in one law all Pro-Life Law leaving the door open to millions of more murdered children in the name of selfishness). ALL such laws are an attempt at trying to stop the voice of freedom in America and the world. Such laws strike at the very heart of the freedoms we all hold so dear.
Don’t let such legislation as the “Fairness Doctrine” pass, EVER.
Reagan knew what he was doing.
Keep the “Fairness Doctrine” in the can, where it belongs.
I am a Christian who soundly believes in putting his faith into action whenever and wherever, thanks partly to JanetPorter and RayComfort! But, more importantly than their great efforts at defending the faith and equipping the faithful to Godly action, we look to Jesus, our Savior and God.
We THANK JESUS for our nation and for our freedoms.
So do that, thank Jesus for our nation by staying involved and not letting our liberty get flushed under anyone’s rule, “liberal”, “libertarian”, “Constitutional” or “conservative”.
Let your freedom go only at your death.
