A senior LeT commander finally admitted playing a role in Mumbai terror attack. The admission comes soon after a senior Pakistani envoy admitted that Pakistani origin of the attackers couldn’t be ruled out entirely.
After repeatedly denying their role for the past several days the LeT for the first time admitted of playing a role in Mumbai terror attack. This dramatic development has helped the story getting few more twists in the event. The admission became noticed when Zarar Shah Shah, a senior commander of the banned terrorists organization, shared his contribution for the entire plan to the investigators.
Detailing the plans the senior commander told investigators that the attackers were trained in the port city of Karachi for a long span of sixty days. Further, he told that he had constantly been in touch with attackers in Mumbai. Shah has stated name of allegedly the other mastermind behind the incident, Zakiaur Rehman Lakhvi, while co-operating with the investigators. The statements of Shah have also been corroborated with the taped conversation gathered by US intelligence between one of the attackers in the Taj Hotel and someone in Pakistan.
While both Shah and Zakiaur Rehman Lakhvi, were arrested in the first half of this month for their alleged connection in Mumbai terror plans, the state of Pakistan till now has not officially admitted the fact that her ground had been used for the attack.
Investigators later told the media people that Shah was one of the main motivators as well as planners behind the attack. Moreover, while continuing the carnage the terrorists had been in constant touch with Shah to keep them motivated and focused.
