For Christmas 2008, one of the best presents one can receive would be a pardon from United States President George W. Bush. However, one will have his “present” revoked.
As of January 20, 2009, George W. Bush will no longer be the United States President. He will be replaced by US Democratic President-Elect Barack Obama. It will shift from the Bush administration to the Obama administration. However, there is the question on who Bush will pardon.
For Christmas of 2008, one of the best Christmas presents would be a Presidential Pardon. So far, there are nineteen people set to be pardoned. However, Bush decided to overturn one pardon. In a sense, Bush took back the “Christmas present” from one of the nineteen people. This is not a really great way to spend Christmas. So far, Isaac Robert Toussie of the Brooklyn Borough of NYC will not be getting his Christmas present from Bush.
Toussie was convicted of mail fraud and making false statements to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Unfortunately, he will not be pardoned. WH Press Secretary Dana Perino said that new information has emerged from the water. This is due to a story by the Daily News and on other news blogs.
So it is tough luck for Toussie. He got a Christmas present from Bush only to have it snagged back. It does not seem to be a Merry Christmas for Toussie.
