article imageApple iPhone Nano rumor surfaces online

By Chris V. Thangham     Dec 22, 2008 in Technology
A rumor circulating online hints at Apple releasing a mini version of the iPhone. A Chinese website has already started selling cases for this "iPhone Nano."
Apple is very secretive about any of their product launches and seldom reveals any secrets to the media but now and then there are leaks like this doozy. The Chinese website XSKN has posted a separate section for “iPhone Nano” and has started selling silicone cases for it.
A month ago, iDeals China had mentioned this “iPhone Nano” product and also mentioned that XSKN will sell cases for it soon.
The XSKN site works only with Internet Explorer for now and you can see “buy” buttons for iPhone Nano.
The iPhone Nano looks like a miniature version of the iPhone. The touch keyboard will be smaller than the one on the iPhone; users might find it difficult to handle the iPhone Nano unless they come with a stylus.
This new phone may pose problems for developers, who have to create a different version for the smaller iPhone screen. Also, the applications found in iTunes may not be compatible with iPhone Nano.
There are many questions to be answered about the iPhone Nano but Apple will be ready and will have all the answers if the rumors are true.
Also, Wal-Mart was rumored to sell iPhones soon for $99.
