Zimbabwe: Cholera Outbreak Is A Biological Attack Caused By Britain

In regards to the cholera outbreak, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has made a very bold accusation blaming Britain for causing it.

Things in Zimbabwe continue to get dicey. Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe continues to receive condemnation from the international community for all of the problems and chaos that have plagued the country over the course of several months. Now, Zimbabwe is plagued with an outbreak of cholera. Some interesting things have taken place over the span of the last few days. The death toll has almost reached 800. According to the UN, the cases of cholera could reach about 60,000. However, Mugabe’s administration seems unfit to handle it. It has been considered to be both ill-financed and ill-prepared to handle the situation. Recently, Mugabe was on the receiving end of further backlash when he made a nationally broadcast claim that the cholera outbreak was over. He accused British PM Gordon Brown, US President George W. Bush, and French President Nicholas Sarkozy of trying to use the outbreak as justification to send in military troops. Then it was announced that Mugabe was being sarcastic about the outbreak being over. The sarcastic remark brought forth further condemnation from Mugabe’s opponents. Now, Mugabe has made a new bold and radical accusation. According to Mugabe’s information minister, cholera is a racist attack. Again, this can be conceived as another effort for Mugabe to remain in power. “Cholera is a calculated, racist attack on Zimbabwe by the unrepentant former colonial power, which has enlisted support from its American and Western allies so that they can invade the country,” explains Sihkanyiso, Mugabe’s information minister. He added that the cholera epidemic is a biological attack. From being “sarcastic,” Mugabe’s government is accusing Britain for starting the cholera outbreak as a means to commit genocide. But, it should not be surprising. Mugabe has repeatedly accused Britain of conspiring to remove him from power. Many times, he said that MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai was a "Western Puppet."
