'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' Premieres in Australia

By Richard van der Draay     Dec 11, 2008 in Entertainment
The lovely Cate Blanchett, whose star was only recently added to Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, attended the Sydney premiere of the new film 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'.
Her performance in this adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald is rumoured to be Oscar-material. She cut a dazzling figure at the premiere in a shiny silvery dress, looking every bit the star that she so undoubtedly is.
The story begins: "I was born under unusual circumstances." The film is about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards, no less. He is, like most of us, utterly unable to stop time.
The tale is set in New Orleans from the end of the First World War, into the twenty-first century, and details his journey, which is quite an unusual one to say the least. The film is directed by David Fincher and stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett with Tilda Swinton, Taraji P. Henson, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Julia Ormond.
'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' can be described as a time traveller's tale of the people and places he comes across along the way, the loves he loses and finds, of all that makes life worthwhile and sad and death as well.
