According to experts in the UK, the caped crusader who is about to turn 70 years old is also about to get killed off. Comic Book Resources have been told that we are about to witness"the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman"
There are dark rumours flying around the cartoon creators in the UK. (You see, we are all the same over here - can't wait to spread a thin slice of the controversial,) yet according to those who are in the know, Batman "will suffer a gruesome end when his sidekick Robin goes over to "the dark side" and destroys him in a terrible betrayal."
(No, I haven't just made that up...)
Apparently, that black caped hero who has kept the streets of Gotham City clear of the evils of characters equally as famous as the other side of Bruce Wayne himself, will meet his end when he comes face to face with the ultimate villain - The Black Glove. (Sounds too much Yellow Submarine.) However, this tragic story line is still yet to be confirmed - what can be said is that Batman is definitely going to go to that great Bat-mobile in the sky.
Today in the most recent issue of the classic comic, Batman's destiny will be confirmed.
Batman story writer, Scottish genius, Grant Morrison has been at the helm of not only stories for Batman and his younger side kick Robin, but he even has Superman and the X-Men to his credit, although he has only been writing for the DC Comic for Batman since 2006. He said,
"What I am doing is a fate worse than death, things that no one would expect to happen to these guys at all."
Yet this hasn't been the first scrape with death for our hooded friend. He broke his back by a villain called Bane in the story called "Knightfall." It was in this incident that Wayne, in the story enlisted the help of Jean-Paul Valley to play the part of Batman.
There will be another Batman once Mr Wayne has met his fate, so don't think for a minute that I may be saying that Batman has gone for good - he hasn't. So far, no one is giving away who that next caped hero will be.
