article imagePublic Restrooms Get Face Lift, Blends Toilet With Flat-Screen TV

By Nikki Weingartner     Nov 26, 2008 in Lifestyle
It doesn't have a red carpet or paparazzi, but a bathroom experience touring the country provides all citizens a chance to "do it" like a star. The multi-city luxury bathroom tour is free to the public and even comes with flat-screen television viewing.
If your phobia is using the public loo, you may have less to fear these days as the maker of Charmin bathroom tissue have once again taken to the luxury bathroom experience. Although temporary, the Ultra Strong or Ultra Soft potty paper maker has provided flat-screen TVs, restrooms attendants donned in tuxedos and of course, plenty of the company's famed wiping stuff.
The three-city tour which hit Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, and Boston, MA over the past two months offered up these public facilities that not only provided a nice place to, you know, do the doody, but also had fireplaces and luxury baby changing stations for the little one. All state-of-the-art sinks, toilets and sconces were provided by KOHLER (a trademarked company).
And if cleanliness was a concern, men and women wearing tuxedos graciously attended to each stall immediately following your "biz."
Now, for a limited time, there are 20 of these luxury stalls located in New York's Time Square. The pretty potties were officially inaugerated into use by none other than Broadway's Joey Fatone (that is 'fuh-Tohn' for those needing a lesson in enunciation) on Monday with the first flush.
So if you are in New York and want to take a luxury trip to a toilet fit for a king, you have until 2 am New Year's Day to visit the freebie potties in Time Square where the only thing they won't do is provide personal cleaning service. Hey, and if you believe that this type of toilet service should be a right and not a dream, then sign the petition to engage in a better bathroom experience.
