A new performance study compared Firefox 3.0.4, Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer 7, Opera 9.6, and Safari 3.2 browsers. Results showed Google’s Chrome loads Web pages faster than others.
Extreme Tech did a
review of all the latest browsers available and compared their performances with Flash, compatibility, JavaScript and more. Overall, they crowned Google’s
Chrome the fastest browser.
They analyzed how browsers performed with content-rich sites like Yahoo.com, Zoho.com (office suite of applications available online), BBC, Gamespot.com, YouTube and other sites. Google’s Chrome loaded pages much faster than competing browsers.

Another test, the
V8 Benchmark Suite, was used to compare the browsers’ performance; it's used to measure the speed of JavaScript application. Again, Google Chrome performed many times better than other browsers.
In the
Acid3 Test, Opera browser performed slightly better than others.
Firefox performed well in
Flash tests.
Internet Explorer performed poorly in a number of tests -- they have a long way to go despite having about 70 per cent browser share.
Even basic testing of the browsers show that Chrome opens faster and downloads faster than other browsers.
