An electrical malfunction caused a number of manhole explosions in Boston's Theater District early Monday morning. The entire district is without power.
Power has been knocked out for traffic lights forcing the closure of several area roads. There have been no reports of injuries.
Firefighters and electrical crews are on the scene. The Boston Fire Department has confirmed that four manholes exploded in total.
Traffic will be delayed in the theater district all the way to Berkeley Street. Public transit at the Arlington and Copley station is without power and closed.
