Ex Champ Lewis Willing To Fight For Big Money

By Russ Peter     Nov 23, 2008 in Sports
A whopping $100 million dollars (presumably US), could entice the former WBC title holder to put on his boxing gloves again.
London - Lennox Lewis, former world heavyweight boxing champion said on Sunday that he might consider the possibility of returning to the ring if he was offered $100m, after what appeared to be a call from his former foe, Vitali Klitschko, for a rematch!
According to Lewis, "If someone wants to pay me serious money, $100 million dollars or so, then I will fight again."
"I don't have to do this, I don't need the money and my legacy speaks for itself." he added.
"But boxing needs me...And if I come back, it will be to win, not play."
Interesting point there. But so far, the former champ has only been offered US40 million to return to the ring.
Lewis retired from the sport in 2003, after beating Klitschko with a TKO in the sixth round of the WBC match that year.
Klitschko, who came out of retirement last month himself, is currently holding the WBC title after defeating Samuel Peter of Nigeria.
