To kick off summer travel season and celebrate Pet Appreciation Week, which runs from June 4 to 11, Nature’s Recipe dog food is offering pet-parents tips and resources, in an effort to make dog-friendly travel easier at FuelTheWag.com/Travel since Nature’s Recipe is now available at major retailers nationwide. Michaels provided pet-friendly travel tips, from how to plan your trip to what to pack. “It has been great. We are here in New York, and it has been a whirlwind,” she said. “It has been fun.”
“A lot of pet-parents are a little intimidated for taking their fur babies on the road. There is no reasons for that these days. Brands are stepping up and making it easier for pet-parents to get the information and to get information for places to stay,” she said. “I’m here to inspire them and give them life tips, and to help get pets on the road.”
She continued, “Nature’s Recipe has partnered with Residence Inn by Marriott to create VI-Pup packages, which are great for pet-parents who want to bring their pets to a city. They are launching in New York, Denver, Chicago, San Francisco and Portland, so that when you check in upon arrival, there are packages for your pet (with water bottles, bowls and treats), and it basically sets the tone for bringing your animal to a destination. It gives you something to look forward to. It is a fun and engaging way to kick off your road trip.”
Michaels has a dog, Dexter, who travels with her, and she uses a “Pooch Selfie Stick” to help capture dog/parent photos on the go. “I’m going to take Dexter on a trip, and I’m preparing to pack,” she said. “You give your animals a chance to live a big life. You bond and make memories with them, since as pet-parents, they are part of your family. It’s about integrating them in your road trip moments.”
She concluded, “Before the trip, make sure they are healthy. Make sure they go to the vet and have their shots. I hope it inspires pet-parents to get on the road this summer. It is important to plan your vacation ahead with your pets. The journey is a part of the adventure.”
