article imageThe View's Joy Behar Calls Leno An A-Hole Live On Tonight Show

By Nikki Weingartner     Nov 10, 2008 in Entertainment
What do you get when you mix one day time talk show host known for her harsh opinions and rude comments and with a late night talk show host who leaves no stone unturned? A statement of 'nothing' that leads to some pretty interesting name calling.
Talk shows are often more fun than not. Full of playful banter designed around the host's personality. When you watch Oprah, its all about feel good or emotions; Montel, well he can drudge up a feeling or two as well; Steve Wilkos, if you haven't seen this guy, the ex Marine and retired member of the Chicago Police Department will leave your jaw open wide with his "no nonsense" style of addressing issues. And of course, there is the ever-popular full fight oriented Jerry Springer Show.
And with so many differing points of views and opinions, its no surprise that the occasional host goes mano y mano, figuratively speaking in a word fight on live TV.
ABC's popular daytime talk show The View is no different and is actually known for being at the core of controversy. When The View's Joy Behar guest starred on the late-night talk show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, things got a bit heated and her red headed personality, well it sure did shine through.
Behar started on a rant about Sarah Palin, saying how she needed to go back to Alaska and to keep an eye on Russia for us and as she continued on her rant, she referenced a statement by Palin, saying:
"I watch the show America's Top Model. That doesn't make me a skinny bitch"
To which Leno replied "Well not skinny, buy hey....." and after the crowd soared with laughter, on obviously upset Joy Behar proceeded to call Leno an "A&%hole" on live television. Of course, the smiles following such a shocking statement gained an applause and laughter.
We will surely miss Jay Leno when his final show airs in May of 2009. Conan O'Brien will take over The Tonight Show on June 1, 2009.
