A new Rasmussen poll shows a majority of Republicans want Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin as their presidential nominee in 2012.
Despite losing the election, Republicans still want
Palin to be their presidential choice in 2012, according to a
new Rasmussen Poll. About 64 per cent want Palin as their next choice for President.
Respondents were asked to choose among some of the GOP’s top names, and nobody other than Palin received any strong support; former governors Mike Huckabee of Arkansas received 12 per cent support and Mitt Romney of Massachusetts received 11 per cent.
Other choices were Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Charlie Crist of Florida and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota; they all received low, single-digit support.
An astonishing 91 per cent of Republicans have a favorable view of Palin, including 65 per cent who say their view is “very favorable." Only 8 per cent have an unfavorable view of her, including 3 per cent who have a "very unfavorable" view of Palin.
Poll results also showed that 69 per cent of Republicans believed Palin helped John McCain’s bid for the presidency, and only 20 per cent said Palin hurt McCain’s chances.
It will be an interesting 2012.
