A body found today in Barrie, Ontario is believed to be that of a teen who left home after a fight with his parents about an Xbox. For nearly a month a search for young Brandon Crisp has been ongoing. Sadly the search is now over.
The body of a young person was found just kilometers from Crisp's central Ontario home. It is not believed that the teen died at another's hands.
Brandon Crisp, 15, left his home on Thanksgiving after his parents told him he could not play his Xbox. Crisp was reportedly addicted to an online video game.
In the days and then weeks that followed, volunteers searched for the boy.
Now, the body has been taken for a post mortem examination in Toronto.
The staff and student's at Crisp's school, St. Joseph's High School, held a communal prayer today after the news was released. Children were given the option of going home or remaining at the school where grief counselors were on hand.
The Canadian Press reports the investigation is still in its early stages, but the body was believed to be that of Crisp.
"It's believed at this time it is Brandon Crisp, however there is other medical examination and further investigative work that has to be conducted before we can make that determination 100 per cent," said Barrie police Sgt. Dave Goodbrand. "We're definitely all moved by this and the case has drawn national attention and we've done everything we can to locate Brandon and obviously a very tragic day."
