It was John McCain's turn to play Saturday night in New York as he made an appearance on "Saturday Night Live."
The presidential candidate appeared at the beginning of the show opposite Tina Fey as his running mate, Sarah Palin.
The skit had McCain saying that he didn't have the funds to do a 30 minute commercial like his rival Barack Obama but instead would sell campaign products on the QVC shopping channel.
The spoof had McCain hawking a set of knives designed to cut through the pork in Washington. Cindy McCain also appeared selling "McCain Fine-Gold" jewerly. Fey, playing Sarah Palin, advertised a set of "Joe" dolls that included Joe the Plumber, Joe Six Pack and her Democratic rival, Joe Biden. Fey also had T-shirts up for sale spouting "Palin 2012." The actress protraying the Alaskan mayor quipped she wasn't returning to Alaska.

"I'm either running in four years or I'm going to be a white Oprah," she said.
McCain also was in the "Weekend Update" skit discussing his latest campaign strategy:
"I thought I might try a strategy called the reverse maverick. That's where I'd do whatever anybody tells me," McCain said. And if that didn't work, "I'd go to the double maverick. I'd just go totally berserk and freak everybody out," the Arizona senator quipped.
