When any political agenda reaches into kindergarten, it may be time to rethink who is being allowed to teach. In this case, signing pledge cards in support of Lesbian, Gay, bi-sexual and trans-genders seems over the line.
Why do Gays, Lesbians, Bi-Sexuals need to be kept cautious about promoting their lifestyle?
California is set to vote on an initiative to make marriage a Man/Woman constitutional thingie instead of Man/Man or Woman/Woman or Two Guys, a Gal plus a Kitten and a Labrador Retriever thingie.
The reason why so many of what is really a rather Liberal state are supporting the initiative is because it's very badly needed. As pointed out by THIS STORY regarding a Kindergarten teacher who had her students signing pledge cards to "be an ally" of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-gender (LGBT) people.
Lets keep in mind these are kindergarten children, in the age range of six or so. And they are being asked not use "anti LGBT" language.
Anti LGBT language? Is Tara Miller at Faith Ringgold School of Arts and Science in Hayward, Calif out of her mind?
KINDERGARTENERS! They don't even have a handle on what cooties are yet and now they are being pressured to sign pledge cards in support of someone they can't even describe?
Did someone teach these kids how to write already? To sign their names? I doubt it!
Can they construct a complete sentence even? Perhaps they will all be joining us here at Digital Journal next week.
I am not one of those who suggest LGBT's need to re-enter the closet to keep the world safe from perversion. I do however believe it is better to downplay the acceptability to children of such a young age of a lifestyle which was classified as deviant until the deviants got to redefine the term in the DSM IV.
Maybe at some point in the future, the inmates may not be running the asylum? Dang, I doubt that too.
