Using speedboats as the getaway vehicles armed gunmen have kidnapped ten members from an oil vessel. the kidnappers threaten to kill the ten, if demands not met.
Ten crew members have been kidnapped from an oil vessel off the West African state of Cameroon. The kidnappers were armed and used speedboats to commit their crime.
The hostages are, apparently, seven French nationals, two Cameroonians and a Tunisian.
The attack happened close to the Bakassi peninsula, which Nigeria recently handed over to Cameroon.
The Bakassi Freedom Fighters has claimed to have carried out the attack.
The kidnappers have said they would kill the hostages within three days if Cameroon's government did not meet its demands.
The group has not yet made their demands known.
there are reports the attack had been carried out jointly with a second group called the Niger Delta Defence and Security Council.
