Palin Attacks Obama On Another 'Radical Connection'

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the VP running-mate for GOP Presidential nominee Senator John McCain, has attacked Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama of another “radical connection.”

Back in early October, we had the first and only vice-presidential debate. One had to admit that this was more interesting that the first US Presidential debate. In the VP debate it was Alaska Governor Sarah Palin that represented GOP Presidential nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona. It was Senator Joe Biden of Delaware that represented Democratic Presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois. After that debate, the GOP and McCain campaign had started to attack Obama on his connections to William Ayers and Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Ayers is the founder of the now defunct radical anti-war group known as the Weather Underground. Wright is known for his notorious “God Damn American” sermon. Since then, McCain and Palin had hammered Obama on Ayers. Perhaps it may have backfired on them. During the final debate, McCain called Ayers a “washed up terrorist.” Obama cleared up the relationship with Ayers. Today, Palin has brought up another “radical” connection of Obama. So far, Palin said that Obama has ties with Rashid Khalidi, a professor at Columbia University. According to Palin, Khalidi is a former spokesman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). “It seems that there is yet another radical professor from the neighborhood who spent a lot of time with Barack Obama going back several years,” Palin said attacking Obama. However, Khalidi has denied that he was a spokesman for the PLO. The Obama campaign fired back and said that the McCain campaign is trying to use controversy again to distract voters from the main issues. The McCain campaign gave its reason for bringing up the matter: because Election Day is coming up. That would mean the McCain campaign decided to bring up that issue within the last minute in preparation for Election Day. Obama had words to say in that regard. “I don’t know what’s next. By the end of the week, he’ll be accusing me of being a secret communist because I shared my toys in kindergarten. I shared my peanut butter and jelly sandwich,” Obama fired back in regards to the recent attack. Questions that should be asked: How effective will this attack be? Will there been any damage as a result? If so, what will the damage be? Will it backfire on the McCain campaign? If it does, what will be the fallout?
