“Joe The Plumber,” who initially blamed Obama’s tax plan for costing him too much, has now changed his mind. He's now an Obama tax plan supporter.
During the final presidential debate, presidential candidates continually mentioned a man named “
Joe The Plumber” (original name Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher).
Yesterday we learned he is not a licensed plumber at all, and then details emerged indicating he earned less than $40,000 last year, even though he claimed to Obama in person that he earned more than $250,000 and felt Obama’s tax plan would seriously hurt him.
In addition, the media also discovered he was a licensed Republican (though he can’t vote in Ohio for registering his name wrong) and he owed $11,000 in back taxes.
McCain used the “Joe the Plumber” reference 21 times in the
final debate to put his point across that Obama’s tax plan would hurt small businesses. But CBS fact checked (second video) and found that under Obama’s tax plan, Joe Wurzelbacher would actually save more.
Now, Joe himself
admits that under Obama’s tax plan he can save more money. He now supports the tax plan and wants to set the record straight.
Despite all this news about “Joe The Plumber”, the McCain camp used Joseph Wurzelbacher in their
ads.
