A Romanian horse was deliberately pumped full with alcohol and subjected to blood tests by local authorities after it went out of control and caused a man’s death. Read on whether you prefer tea, coffee or more forceful spirits soaked in grain.
According to news sources, Romanian traffic police tested a horse for alcohol after it went “crazy” and the cart it was pulling hit a man who was sitting on a bench. The officers requested the services from a local vet and results were positive. The vet, Ion Iliuta, said he was amazed when police asked him to establish the alcohol concentration in the horse's blood. He told the media:

“We never had such a request before. Maybe to see what kind of blood it is yes, but to find out if the animal was drunk, never.”

The owner of the horse told police he had just bought the animal from a fair and was going home. Police suspect the horse was forced to imbibe alcohol to make it look stronger and healthier before it was sold. Witnesses told police that the horse “looked out of control” despite its owners desperate efforts to control it. The 86-year-old victim, who was sitting on a bench outside of his home, died from his injuries.

What will happen to the creep who drugged the horse? We can only hope authorities will throw the book at him, but results may well lead to… a horse of another color!
