On September 27, 2008, 14-year-old Emily Stauffer was found murdered. Her murder is still unsolved and the town of Edson is raising money to offer a reward for information.
Almost three weeks after her shocking murder, Emily Stauffer's killer remains at large. Currently, there are about 40 investigators working on her case. A couple of days after the murder
a woman claimed to have been attacked in the same area; she later admitted she lied and has been charged with mischief.
Carly Lapoint, an Edson real estate agent, with the help of the RCMP and Crime Stoppers, is
raising money to be used as a reward for information leading to the arrest of her killer. Currently, they have raised $22,500. Other events are planned to raise money, including a November 9th concert.
The murder of Emily Stauffer has shocked many people who can't believe such a crime could happen in their small town of Edson, Alberta. There are currently four Facebook pages dedicated to Emily Stauffer. The one with the largest amount of members (3,320) is called
