Local police are trying to determine why students from two New Brunswick high schools are engaging in fights over lunch hour.
Students from two high schools in New Brunswick's Kennebecasis Valley are fighting at noon hour for the past several days. The Rothesay Regional Police do not know why the fights are taking place.
are trying to figure out why students at two high schools have been duking it out every noon hour.
Jeff Porter said Friday,"Every noon hour, kids from both schools are meeting and wanting to fight each other. There was a fight yesterday on Scott Avenue where one of the individuals involved received a cut to the forehead, I’m told."
So far one student may be facing assault charged in connection with that fistfight, he said.
Police were at both schools Friday talking to teachers and students, trying to find out what's behind the fighting and to put an end to the violence.
"We’re taking proactive steps to make sure it’s not going to continue. The police cars were down at both high schools today to try to figure out what is the cause of all the violence … and trying to put a stop to it.
"But, right now, we don’t know why the kids want to fight."
