Evangelist Billy Graham tripped over one of his dogs at his North Carolina home ending up in hospital. Graham, 89, spent the night being observed at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
Graham has bruises but x-rays showed no broken bones.
Graham has counseled every U.S. president since Harry Truman. The Southern Baptist minister was released from hospital on Saturday.
Graham's golden retriever Sam got caught up under the minister's pet when being petted.
MSNBC reports:
"He's a loyal dog. He follows Mr. Graham wherever he goes," Ross said. The dog was a gift two years ago from friends of one of Graham's children, Graham spokesman Larry Ross added.
Dr. Lucien Rice expects Graham to make a full recovery. He offered the senior citizen a bit of advice, "I am encouraging him to remain as active as possible, but to be mindful of his dog, who likes to keep faithfully at his feet."
