Senator John McCain said he want to put an end to abuses of power and corruption, just a day after Palin was found guilty of abusing the power. Palin also said the same thing.
At a town hall rally in Davenport, Iowa, McCain is tired of politics in Washington and said he will put a stop once he becomes the president.
He
told the rally:
As a Senator, I’ve seen the corrupt ways of Washington and wasteful spending and other abuses of power, and its corruption. We now have former members of Congress residing in federal prison. That’s how bad it’s gotten. As President, I’m going to end these abuses whatever it takes.
Palin also said a similar thing. Palin at a rally
said:
As a senator, John McCain has seen the corrupt ways of Washington and the wasteful spending and the abuses of power in Washington and on Wall Street. And as president he’s going to end those abuses whatever it takes.
It is a great sound bite but unfortunately doesn’t make sense. McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin was
cited last night by the Alaskan state officials for unethically and unlawfully abusing her power. McCain himself was
admonished for his actions in the Keating scandal by the Senate Ethics Committee.
Steve Benen from
Washington Monthly said this is the first time in American history that both candidates were found to have violated ethics standards before a presidential elections.
Like Palin said today, will McCain do the right thing, end the abuses by firing her?
