A man was robbed as he walked along a busy highway in Warren, Michigan. He ended up receiving $30 more than the robbers "take." Who paid, well that is what the story is about.
Here is another example of "Crime does not pay."
A 36-year-old man from Warren Michigan was walking along a highway at 11:50 p.m. on October 7. According to Warren's police commissioner William Dwyer, the victim was approached by a lone male who demanded money.
When the victim refused he was grabbed by the suspect and wrestled to the ground. While they were struggling the suspect took $50 from the victim's pocket.
When the suspect tried to flee he was tackled by the victim who put him in a choke hold and demanded his money be returned.
The suspect was released after removing money from his pocket and throwing it at the victim. The suspect than ran across one of the highways into Detroit.
According to Dwyer the victim picked up the money and discovered the robber had given him an extra $30.00.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a minor injury to his wrist and then released.
Dwyer
said, "Even though this incident ended with a favorable outcome, the Warren Police Department does not recommend anyone engaging in a physical confrontation with a suspect. A life is worth more than fifty dollars."
According to Dwyer the suspect was an African-American male, about 25 years old, approximately 5-feet-9-inches tall, weighing 130 pounds. The suspect also had a three-inch afro, a goatee and was wearing a tan shirt and tan pants.
Anyone with information on the suspect or this robbery should call the Warren Police Detective Bureau at (586) 574-4810.
