The annual British Technology Awards has tallied its votes in UK and named the Apple's iPhone 3G as the “Gadget of the Year”.
The British Technology Awards showcases new technology products in Great Britain. The British public voted for their favorite gadgets in a number of categories and the results made Apple’s iPhone a big winner.

The iPhone was chosen as the “Gadget of the Year” and also won in the following categories: Best Mobile Technology, Most Stylish Technology and Technological Innovation of the Year. Apple’s iTunes also won the “Best Music Technology” award.

Other winners of the British Technology Awards 2008 include:

Best Gaming Technology: Nintendo Wii

Best Home Entertainment Technology: BBC iPlayer

Best Kids Technology: Nintendo DS

Best Online Technology: BBC iPlayer

Business Technology of the Year: Asus Eee PC

Greenest Technology: Toyota Prius

Most Indispensable Technology: Google Maps

Retailer of the Year: Amazon

Even without these announcements, iPhone has become hugely popular and they have exceeded 10 million phones in total sales this year. Despite the good news, Apple’s stock took a beating is currently selling for under $100, whereas few months ago they were selling for more than $200 a share.
