Judy Smith broke down the door to her son Brett Smith's mobile home in North Canton, Ohio to find him decapitated. She had been worried because he wasn't answering her phone calls.
Her frantic call to 911 is quoted by Ohio.com:

On the tape of the call, Judy Smith told Stark County dispatchers:

''I think my son has been killed. . . . We just broke in and it looks like he's in the bathroom but his head is missing . . . It looks like his legs.''

The devastated mother could not be sure that it was her son that she found until the police identified from by his tattoos.

Brett Smith was a 1993 graduate of Lake High School.

The police are not confirming that Smith had in fact been decapitated. There was also a kitchen fire in the mobile home that is being investigated.

Mother Judy Smith hopes her son didn't feel any pain as he was murdered.

''I don't know what happened,'' Judy Smith said Monday. ''I had been concerned because he was supposed to have a play day with my granddaughter at noon Saturday and he didn't answer the door when we got there.

''I went back at 2:30 and 5 and he still didn't answer. He's been on a lot of medication and
I was hoping that he was just sleeping through everything.''

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
