Hagel's Wife Plans To Endorse Obama

By Can Tran     Oct 7, 2008 in Politics
On the day of the second United State Presidential debate, Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama is about to receive a somewhat Republican endorsement.
At 9 PM EST at Nashville, Tennessee, Democratic Presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and GOP Presidential nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona are set to debate for the second time. Hopefully, this debate will be more exciting and entertaining than the first one.
For those that saw the first debate would see that it was lukewarm at best. Obama and McCain had dealt jabs to each other. However, neither had dealt the other the critical knockout punch.
This debate is in a town hall style format. McCain has the opportunity to rebound tonight.
It has been reported that Obama is soon to be getting a somewhat Republican endorsement. Today, Lilibet Hagel is planning to give her endorsement to Obama. Key word is “planning.”
That does not mean that she has given her endorsement to Obama, yet.
She is the wife of Republican Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska. So far, Hagel is silent. Hagel has yet to endorse either McCain or Obama. But, an endorsement coming from the wife of a Republican senator could be big.
To Lilibet, she considers it very big that she is endorsing a Democratic candidate. In short, it will be the first time that Lilibet will give her endorsement to a Democrat. However, she insists this is not to slam McCain or his wife, Cindy.
So far, she strongly feels that Obama is the right person.
For those that are not familiar with Hagel, he has been one of the Republicans that have been critical of the handling of Iraq by current US President George W. Bush.
In a nutshell, Hagel’s wife plans to endorse Obama.
