A woman who had been enjoying Nuit Blanche ended the night in critical condition in hospital. The woman fell under a streetcar at Spadina and College Avenue. The accident happened at 3:40 a.m. Sunday morning.
Reports say that the unidentified woman lost her balance and fell backwards into the path of an approaching streetcar. The streetcar trapped her underneath.

Several people who had been enjoying the art shows in the area ran to assist the woman. They tried to keep her calm and warm until help arrived. Emergency crews used a jack to lift the streetcar off of her.

She was rushed to hospital with severe head trauma.

CTV reports:

"We couldn't help her, she was way under," witness Gary Pieters told CTV Toronto. "She was under the streetcar. Like if you looked on the street, you would have seen one of her shoes."
