Disgraced football legend OJ Simpson was cleared of murder charges 13 years ago. Today, he stands guilty of other crimes - robbery and kidnapping.
LAS VEGAS – O.J Simpson has been found guilty of armed robbery and kidnapping, exactly 13 years after being acquitted of two murders.
The former American football hero, now 61, broke into Room 1203 of the Palace Station Hotel and Casino with a group of armed men on Sep 13 2007.
The gang then seized sports memorabilia worth thousands of dollars from dealers Bruce Fromong and Al Beardsley.
Simpson, who did not testify at his trial, told reporters in interviews after his arrest that he was merely trying to recover personal property that had been stolen.
However, testimony from the two dealers and four of Simpson's accomplices convinced the jury of their verdict.
Simpson's lawyers protested against the ruling and alleged that the authorities had rushed to pronounce judgement. They also said that the witnesses, including the victims, had sold their stories to the media.
